As the newest member of the Compass team, I’m usually typing captions into my phone instead of articles in the paper. My name is Claudia Chick— yes, like the bird. I’m the one running the Compass Instagram account that I hope you’ve all been enjoying. As a senior in college, I’ve been trying to deliver graphics and information through the account in as fun and clear a way as possible. Since taking over the account, it’s grown by almost 300 followers! Give yourselves a round of applause, because you, the readers, are what keep me doing what I do.
I believe in the power of print, but I also believe in the power of digital marketing. The idea behind the Instagram feed is to represent each of the monthly columns in a visual manner, and I’ve been having a blast. Becoming part of this organization has taught me so much and I’m encouraging you to do the same. Whether you’re a designer, writer or anything at all, you can get involved. I never wanted to touch social media or design, but here I am… loving it.
